About me

Picture
That's me, Master Emmerich of Vakkerfjell OL,OP. on the lap of Father Christmas. I am a middle timer in the SCA of 32 years. Got most of my awards for...you guessed it, Moneying or Coin making as some call it. That and starting a lot of Moneyers Guilds and workshops around the Knowne World. I even wrote a small pamphlet on coin making called, "The Moneyers Handbook". A very basic how to; that so far as I can tell has graced about 3000 bookcases around the planet. It inspired a lot of people in the process.
I live in Northern California. I serve Cynagua, and the West Kingdom when I can.
After many years working in the medical field, I now make coins for a living. So feel free to order some coins and let me do what I do best.

How I like to operate

Picture
Talk is good, talk is my friend. So if you have your heart set on placing a Special order, start by sending me an email. That way we can get right into what the specifics are and what you need. Nothing replaces a good conversation between two people. I will return a private note right away so we can start.
The bottom line is I like what I do, and I like people to be happy with what they get. My prices are calculated to be kind to me and you. I would appreciate your patronage.

The art-work is my own. It is the experience of 30 years in coinmaking that makes this easy. (Of late I do have a erstwhile helper Jason)
While they resemble coins from historical eras, it is original art in form and substance; though they get very close in appearance to them.

Our work is not intended as an exact replica of historical coins, but merely similar to them sufficiently that reenactors may enjoy them as part of their entertainment. We do not support nor encourage others to try and pass them as authentic pieces, you will likely get laughed out the door. We incorporate details not found in the originals to avoid possible confusion.

Got a gripe? Email me, we can work it out!
Got something good to say about us? Email me too!

Some cool stuff about me.

Picture
The fellow at left is an ancestor named Bishop Richard Vaughn, A Bishop of London, he was enthroned a year after the death of Elizabeth the First (1604) until his death in 1607. He was himself descended from the early Kings of Gwynedd (Princes of Wales).

Another ancestor, Sir George Gale, was one time Mayor of York and a goldsmith. For many years he was the Minister of His Majesties Mint of York (Henry VIII)

Once when I was about 10, selling newspapers on the street. I met a drunken but kindly giant of a man in a bar-who took all my papers from me and made all the patrons buy one. Coming back to me he said, "Here you go kid", as he dropped all the money into my hands. That giant fellow was none other than Lon Chaney Jr., the original Wolfman!
